PROJECT OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Optical & Geometric Vision Physicist (Consultant) to support our Computer Vision team in solving depth and height estimation challenges using mobile video data. This role focuses on applying camera geometry, optics, and physics-based modeling to enhance real-world measurement accuracy.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

• Develop and implement models to estimate;

  • Player height

  • Distance from camera (depth)

• Utilize camera parameters such as focal length, field of view (FOV), and intrinsic/extrinsic properties;

• Work with 2D pose/keypoint data to infer 3D spatial information;

• Apply and refine:

  • Pinhole camera models

  • Perspective and projection geometry

• Analyze and correct:

  • Camera angle effects

  • Perspective distortion

  • Lens distortion (when applicable)

• Translate real-world camera setups into accurate mathematical representations;

• Improve scale consistency across different devices and recording conditions;

• Identify opportunities where physics-based approaches can complement or replace machine learning models;

• Collaborate closely with Computer Vision engineers to integrate solutions into production pipelines.

IF YOU ARE

• Strong academic or professional background in:

  • Optics

  • Physics

  • Computer Vision

• Deep understanding of camera geometry and image formation principles

• Hands-on experience with:

  • Camera calibration techniques

  • 3D-to-2D projection models

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to bridge theoretical models with practical applications
